Nihondaira Festival

Nihondaira is one of the most famous night view viewing spots in Shizuoka and has been recognized as one of the Three Great Night Views of Fuji, a Japan Night View Heritage, and a part of Japan 100 Moon. It offers a 360-degree view of the city of Shimizu, the orange-colored Shimizu Port, Mt. Fuji and the Izu Peninsula in the distance, and the Southern Alps to the north. The Nihondaira Festival, held every year around the end of July, attracts many people to the garden of the Nihondaira Hotel to enjoy the collaboration of the open night view and 10,000 large fireworks. The trinity of the ocean of Suruga Bay, the mountain of Fuji, and the fireworks in the night sky create a composition that looks like a finished painting, mesmerizing many visitors.
