Nihondaira Night Market
Highlights
As a night market held on the fourth Saturday of every month in Nihondaira, which is recognized as a Japan Night View Heritage, it is run by local volunteers and features many exhibits, restaurants, and stores. A wide range of people, from children to the elderly, can be found enjoying eating and shopping. As a result of steady efforts over the years, the event has grown to attract attention in Shizuoka, with up to 70 stores and 10,000 visitors in one day. Nihondaira also has a number of vantage points, including the Yume Terrace, Ginbodai (“observation square”), and East Observatory. The stores rapidly change each time, so you can enjoy a variety of night views and have fun no matter how many times you visit.
