Miho Masaki Beach
Highlights
This beach is located not far from Miho Matsubara, one of the most famous sightseeing spots in Shizuoka. Although it is a little difficult to find the way to the beach at night, it is a hole-in-the-wall spot visited by many fishermen and local couples. There is an open space along the coast and facing the sea for you to enjoy from your car the night view, which is centered on the Okitsu Pier on the other side of the river with expansive orange sodium lights. When the Chikyu, a deep earth exploration ship, calls at the pier, the symbolic glow of the "Castle of Light" is impressive. Enjoyed from 0m above sea level, the panorama stretching 180 degrees from east to west is reflected on the surface of the sea like a mirage, and the nine gantry cranes (aka "giraffes") floating in the dark night are just some of the many elements of the night view.
